You might find this site mostly (but not totally) inactive from here on out. The hubby and I are going to be blogging together over at cwsquared.wordpress.com

See you there!

I’ve spent the last 2 hours inputting grades. The joys of teaching, I tell ya.

My students have actually been really good so far. I mean, it’s hard to do any worse than last semester, but this is a significant improvement for me. Maybe coming back next year won’t be so bad.

My boss yelled at me, though. I didn’t do crap, either. He yelled at three other people that same day (that I know of). Driving a bus makes him cranky, but yelling at me is a huge mistake. I mean, it’s a huge mistake in the sense that I’m uber sensitive and will take forever to recover from. I will dislike him for many weeks now. Maybe even months. Grr…

Okay, I’ve got hot tea waiting.

Your Language Arts Grade: 100%

Way to go! You know not to trust the MS Grammar Check and you know “no” from “know.” Now, go forth and spread the good word (or at least, the proper use of apostrophes).

I have to drive to Nashville in lieu of going to work tomorrow and Friday.  Workshop.  I like workshops.  Easing back into student mode makes me happy.

Something feels heavy.

Well, I just experienced my first full-blown, airbag-deploying car wreck, and I must say, I could have lived without that one. The hubby and I are both okay, and the teenager that hit us was cited at fault (read: turned left in front of us as we were going straight through a light), so his insurance will pay, but the Honda may be totalled. The hubby loves his Civic, so sad times abound in our household. I told him that if the adjuster did decide to total it, we would buy it back at salvage value (a few hundred dollars) and use the difference to fix the car ourselves. The main issue seems to be that both airbags deployed, and it’s around $1000 to re-install those bastards. The car is a 97, so its retail value, in insurance terms, is not enough to justify fixing it.

I told the hubby that we could always sue, as that’s the answer to everything in this country. My dad got into a wreck, and the 60+ year old woman he hit sued him, claiming she could no longer have sex with her husband. My grossmommy was like, “lady, you probably haven’t had sex in the last 20 years.” Nonetheless, the insurance company settled out of court and she got her mulah, cause no one likes a lawsuit.

I don’t like this soreness that is creeping in around my neck…

Good things happening include getting the kitchen cabinets painted (Boston Brick by Behr) and scheduling an electrician, the window guy, and a roll-off dumpster service so we can get crap done. The house is certainly a lot of work, but it will be AWESOME, and you must come visit when it’s, you know, liveable and stuff.

Oh yes, and my list of New Year’s Resolutions, so that I can have an official record to scowl at next December, is as follows:

1. Have a more positive outlook at work.
2. Host some type of event at our new place this summer.
3. React less.
4. Keep in touch better.
5. Be more consistent in my QTs and Bible study.
6. Read at least 3 books that are currently sitting on my shelf.

That last one sounds like it should be a given, considering I’m an English major and teach literature and yadda blah, but really, time just slips away. My guess is that I don’t even start on the 1st book until June (but hopefully I’m wrong).
