We saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the GEC last night. Can I say…

FREAKING AWESOME

Really. It was rockin.’ Need some good, not-so-traditional-yet-kinda-is-in-a-way Christmas music? Then try TSO. The “story” (since they are narrative orchestral rock) that they played for the show was from the album Christmas Eve and Other Stories, but I am still partial to the first CD of theirs that I bought, which is not really Christmas-y at all, Beethoven’s Last Night.

You might have heard their version of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” on the radio around Christmas time. Lots of guitars, bells tolling, instrumental? Yeah, that’s it.

We were there until after midnight because the entire band came out and signed people’s stuff. I bought a CD that now has about 12 signatures on it. Fantastico.

In unrelated news, my sister is getting married in a week. That is crazy to me. What is crazier is that they are moving to Long Island the day after Christmas. They’ll be there for three years (Marine Corps). I’m not good at keeping in contact with my family anyway, but I’m going to miss her.
